Click, send, receive
Winks and words and hidden meanings
That aren’t really there-
Or are they?

Was that comment for me or them?
Prove something to myself,
Drill a concept into my subconscious, on the one hand
Or is it to prove something to the public?
Everyone’s a critic
And I read too much into everything.

To post something is to be vulnerable
To possible disapproval.
Or to be annoying, to hog attention,
Also meriting disapproval
But well-earned disapproval.
Do we all earn disapproval?
Am I reading too much again?
More than there is?

Maybe we do earn it.
In some shining moments,
I would disagree,
But seeing the world bumble
In such confused states
Is always so discouraging, so discouraging-
No.
I will not stand for that
Hopeless
Standpoint.
When all is said and done,
Social media doesn’t help, though.
